The original Green Tea Shot (also popularly known as a “Jameson Green Tea”) is a famous whiskey-based drink with peach schnapps. Pretentious mixologists would sneer at the combination of ingredients (and the name) but it’s really a good balance of sweet and sour that can be particularly refreshing in the summers. The name stems from its green tint, not its components. So if you’re anticipating an alcoholic drink with green tea in it, you may be startled to find there is no green tea in a Green Tea Shot.
Green Tea Shot Ingredients?
Green Tea Shot mainly comprises 4 ingredients. These are
- Peach schnapps: 1/2 ounce Peach Schnapps (15 ml)
This is a peach liqueur that you can get at any liquor shop. It has a distinct fruity taste that is also extremely sweet.
- Sweet and Sour mix: 1/2 ounce Sour Mix (15 ml) .
This is a mix of lemon and lime juice (the sour taste) and simple syrup with a yellow and greenish tint. You’ll be able to find it at most grocery shops or your local liquor store.
- Whiskey : 1/2 ounce Irish Whiskey, such as Jameson (15 ml).
Jameson Irish Whiskey is normally used for making green tea shot. You may also use your preferred brand.
- Lemon lime soda: As Required
A dash of sprite gives us a little sweet fizziness that I really appreciate in this drink.
